De Groene Fee brengt maandelijks op vrijdag voordrachten, lezingen, performances en muziek uit binnen- en buitenland. Vrijdagavond 3 februari 2023 vindt alweer de 33e editie van het literaire café De Groene Fee plaats!
Een inspirerend event in het prachtige Belcrumhuis in de Belcrum, Breda. Met een heel divers programma met dichters, schrijvers, performers én muziek van Pieter & Mirjam van TakandBand.

Hallo liefhebbers van TakandBand,
We hebben onze bandnaam ’n tikkeltje gewijzigd en meteen de website-titel daarbij aangepast.
Waarom deze wijzigingen?
Het &-teken bracht verwarring, was bij oproep onuitspreekbaar en de website heette weer net even anders: veel verwarring dus.
Vandaar de nu universeel begrijpelijke naam: TakandBand, met als naam van de website: http://www.takandband.nl

De naamswijziging is ondertussen op de hele website doorgevoerd. Tevens in de social media kanalen: Facebook en Instagram (tip: volg even, als je dat nog niet hebt gedaan).
Daarnaast richten we nog een nieuw YouTube kanaal in, luisterend naar de naam: TakandBand. Je kunt je eenvoudig online abonneren op dat kanaal, zodat je automatisch wordt gewezen op de nieuwe song van TakandBand. De december ’22 song No Simple Rules is daar al te vinden.

Het is een terugkerende rubriek op deze website: ‘Talking Guitars’. Pieter vertelt, dit keer over zijn grote droom: de Martin. Nou ja, meerdere Martins: D28, D41 en D45. Lees mee over Pieters zoektocht naar een échte Martin, gevonden met hulp van importeur Hans Moust.
Tama met D41 looks
M’n eerste echte goede gitaar was een Tama met D41 ‘looks’. Ik verdiende hem door een grote vakantie lang het ouderlijke huis van een vriendin op te knappen. Met die zelfverdiende 800 gulden liftte ik naar Amsterdam, want daar waren toen de goede gitaarzaken met genoeg keuzemogelijkheden. Zo vond ik na een slopende dag zoeken deze Tama, bij Dirk Witte aan de Vijzelstraat. Een fraaie Japanner met een stevige laklaag en dito nek, maar ik speelde er lang met genoegen op.

Hierboven een foto uit 1976, waar het bandje ‘Attic’ in de stal van de familie Ottevanger aan het repeteren is. Jaren later heb ik hem nog eens geleend van de kennis aan wie ik hem verkocht had. Dit om het geluid ervan op te nemen voor de schijf van de Ierse formatie ‘Moira’: de cd ‘Dutchman over the Border’, geproduceerd door Guy Roelofs.
Verlangen naar een echte Martin
Het verlangen ging natuurlijk uit naar een echte Martin. Het pre-glossy boekje in kleurendruk met Martin Gitaren uit de begin jaren ’70 staat nog steeds in de platenkast. Daar staat de foto in van hun twee topmodellen D41 en D45, pal voor een dikke Rolls geparkeerd. Ik vind de strakke, soepele lijnen van Martin ongeëvenaard fraai en ze zijn onmiskenbaar van toon. Luister maar eens naar de eerste tonen van de song ‘Tell Me Why’ van Neil Young; het geluid ronkt gewoon vanaf het vinyl.

Gitaarimporteur en reparateur Hans Moust wist dat ik graag een Martin wilde met pearl-inlays en stuurde me twee polaroids van een Martin D41 van ’73, die hij in New York had gezien. Met wat extra spaargeld en de opbrengst van de Tama kon ik drie maanden later die gitaar de mijne noemen.
Het bleek een beauty te zijn. Prachtig afgewerkt, helder en toch warm van toon. Alleen de b snaar bleef lastig zuiver te stemmen, daar hadden meer Martins uit die jaren last van. Daarom plaatste Hans vakkundig een gecompenseerde brug, zodat deze snaar een tikje verlengd werd. Het werkte geweldig en met deze gitaar is het nog steeds heerlijk muziekmaken.

Martin D28 en D45
Veel later kwam er nog een D28 uit ’76, die via z’n vorige eigenaar dezelfde ingreep had gekregen; waarschijnlijk is deze brug ook door Hans Moust geplaatst. Deze Martin met z’n donkere sound staat al jaren in de C-stemming voor songs als ‘Circle All The Way’ en ‘The Shed’.
M’n Martin droom werd tenslotte compleet met een echte D45 uit ’79. Mijn vader zei wel eens: ‘Bezit is het einde van alle vermaak’.
Tak&Band zoekt versterking van een percussionist/drummer. Heb je interesse in de muziekstijl van de band (100% eigen werk!) en beheers je je instrument best vaardig? Neem dan zeker contact op!
Onze drummer Hein gaat Tak&Band verlaten, om zich volledig te kunnen richten op het vervolg van zijn muziekopleiding. Hein, bedankt voor je bijdrage!
Ben je, of ken je, een percussionist/drummer met zowel subtiele als solide drumskills, dan horen we heel graag van je.
De 100% eigen muziek van Tak&Band is heel divers. De songs vragen vaak om subtiele percussie, bijvoorbeeld op cajon en bekkens. Maar we spelen ook steviger sets, waarin een volledig drumstel tot z’n recht komt.
Over Tak&Band
Tak&Band is een groep muzikanten rondom singer-songwriter Pieter Tak uit Breda. De band maakt songs over wat er speelt in de wereld, over ‘lief’ en over ‘leed’. Tak&Band speelt en produceert 100% eigen muziek.
We repeteren tweewekelijks (Breda) en treden periodiek op.
Dat doen we omdat we graag spelen voor publiek dat komt om te luisteren; dat doen we niet vanuit financiële motivatie.
Voortdurend werken we aan opnames (in eigen beheer) van nieuwe songs.
