Dagblad BNDeStem riep West-Brabantse kunstenaars op om coronakunst in te sturen. Met een uitgebreid artikel biedt de krant een bonte verzameling van kunstenaars een online podium. Natuurlijk is PieterTak&Band van de partij!
“Wat doet corona met West-Brabantse kunstenaars?“
Dat was de centrale vraag van journalist Frank Timmers van regionaal dagblad BNDeStem, in april 2021.
Kunstenaars, schrijvers en artiesten hebben het zwaar. Uit deze hoek klinkt geen protest al missen ze de mogelijkheid om hun werk te laten zien of horen. Geen exposities, geen optredens en dat heeft grote gevolgen voor hun inkomsten.
Wat zij wel hebben is de mogelijkheid om via de kunst hoop, troost en wat houvast te bieden. Want kunst zet je aan het denken, het kan zorgen voor herkenning van gevoelens, of helpen met de situatie om te gaan.
Op de oproep van de krant om corona-kunst in te zenden, volgde een bonte stoet aan schilderijen, gedichten en…de inzending van Tak&Band. We stuurden de song Silence In The City in, passend bij deze stille tijdens van corona.
De song werd gewaardeerd en opgenomen in een mooi en rijk verzamelartikel over coronakunst in West-Brabant anno 2021.

Het kabinet heeft een openingsplan vastgesteld; een set maatregelen waarmee er langzaamaan weer steeds meer mag en kan in de Nederlandse maatschappij. Ook Tak&Band zal de komende maanden -als alles goed blijft gaan- weer steeds meer actief worden in de fysieke wereld.

Begin jaren 70 bracht Pieters broer een sitar voor hem mee uit het verre India. Het was altijd Pieters wens die rinkelende klanken nog eens bij een lied te kunnen gebruiken. Bij ‘Water Sweet Water’ voegde het zich harmonisch samen met onder meer de warme backing vocals van Mirjam.
Een heerlijk dromerige song.
