We travel in a camper of half a million

I won't miss my daily sports game

We're registered with 50 motorhomes
heading for the sea
We have to arrive in Lissabon,

There is a schedule in the folder
to visit all the sights
How many bars we pass depends on
the patient of the guides
If she is sweet we manage to follow
for an hour or two
But the girls want to shop
or have their things to do
I get sore feet
and my pals are thirsty too

At five there is a drink in the circle
and some hippies sing a song
We, near the booze, talk right through it,
cause don't get me wrong
Health is a more important issue
in the life of the older man
So we discuss our ailments
as loud as we can
Our visit to the next surgery
is our secret plan

The second item is the grandchildren,
we now have four...no five

Nieuwe EP TakandBand: Friends

TakandBand brengt in januari 2024 een nieuwe EP uit: ‘Friends’. Daarop vind je zes songs, die eerder in 2023/2024 werden uitgebracht.

Eens per maand verschijnt er een nieuwe song van TakandBand online. Regelmatig bundelen we die uitgebrachte songs tot een EP.

Dank aan Hans de Vos die bereid was om met de ‘fretless bass’ deze song te ondersteunen. Koert Hommel bespeelde de piano en Kees van der Linden verzorgde de percussie.

pieter over ‘my friend’

Deze song ontstond uit een droom waarin vriend Ed Ottevanger langskwam. Ed en ik deelden in de jaren ’70/’80 onze interesses en zeker onze liefde voor muziek.

Met ons bandje ‘Attic’ gingen we optreden en Hans de Vos speelde basgitaar. We wilden muziek van eigen hand brengen en er zouden nog vele formaties volgen onder die naam.

Tijdens ons werkzame leven verwaterde stilaan het contact om na jaren weer op te bloeien. Verdrietig genoeg eindigde de levensweg van Ed al in november 2019.
